coaching

We offer coaching for those with lived experience of psychiatric services, or their family, friends or carers.

In one-to-one coaching, a space is held for you in which you can:

  • contextualise your experiences;
  • explore your mad identity and your relationship to madness;
  • learn to trust and value lived experience;
  • develop strategies for integrating your experience with the world around you;
  • establish goals and plans that align with your authentic self;
  • find joy, purpose and mad pride in your unique perspective.

This is neither therapy nor counselling and it does not offer instruction, diagnosis or treatment. In counselling, for example, one receives support for mental and emotional issues, often delving into the past and extensive relationship analysis. In coaching, on the other hand, one receives support for addressing one’s goals, focusing mainly on the present and future, and on shifting mindsets and expanding viewpoints.

Coaching offers a space for you in which to explore your ideas, experiences, aspirations and goals. This process leads to mad pride, clarity of purpose and the nurturing of community.
