Events

Mad Soft Rage Room

If you’ve ever felt shamed for your ‘madness’, we invite you to the Mad Soft Rage Room as part of the Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival. Smash a giant brain piƱata, pillow fight the patriarchy, and have a good (muffled) scream. Through art, writing and playful participatory activities, explore the frustrations of mental distress, stigma and society. Together we’ll transform our rage into creativity, connection and collective care.

Saturday 7 November from 14:00 to 20:00

Transmission Gallery, 28 King Street, Glasgow G1 5QP

Admission is free or pay as you can – tickets will be available here.

Workshops

We offer a number of creative workshops with a mad twist. Keep an eye on our upcoming events or get in touch to arrange directly for a gathering with your friends, your family or your colleagues. It’s an ideal way to learn about mad pride and the mad voice whilst expressing yourself creatively.

  • journalling – find refuge on the page
  • embroidery – simple stitches to capture your ideas
  • zine-making – a fun craft with a rebellious history
  • personal essay writing – tell your story, share your truth
  • poetry reading & writing – find inspiration in verse

Book Group

Our book group meets online every other month on a Wednesday evening from 6:30pm to 8pm (UK).
